A Nigerian pastor has caused serious reactions on social media after he warned men never to sleep with a widow, claiming every widow is still spiritually married to the spirit of her late husband.
The pastor, identified as Pastor Julius Ekweozor of Julius Ekweozor Ministries, made the statement during a recent church service. He said: “No matter how nice a widow is, don’t ever sleep with her. There is no single widow on earth because every widow is married to the spirit of her late husband. If you sleep with her, that spirit will come after your source of income.”Watch Video Here
He advised that men should be careful and that in some cultures, special rituals are done before a widow can remarry to break the spiritual tie. The pastor also mentioned that people who have slept with widows can testify to the problems that follow.
The video of the sermon spread quickly on Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter) today, Wednesday, July 22, 2026, and it has generated plenty of talk across the country.
Many Nigerians have reacted strongly to the message. Some people supported the pastor, saying his warning is based on spiritual realities and traditional beliefs common in some parts of the country. One Facebook user wrote: “This is deep. Many men have suffered because of this. Pastors like this are telling the truth that others hide.”
