A Warri-based Catholic priest in Delta State slammed President Bola Tinubu’s administration, calling the distribution of “Renewed Hope” branded rice irresponsible, primitive, and a failure of governance.
A 50kg bag of rice bearing President Tinubu’s photograph and “Renewed Hope Ambassadors” branding was dropped off for him to share with his parishioners.
The priest argued that instead of spending public funds on political food distribution ahead of elections, leaders should fix infrastructure like bad roads and stable electricity they are busy distributing rice which to him is a misplaced priority.
He maintained that a bag of rice cannot solve years of economic hardship or replace sustainable job creation as he sees that as a temporary measure that will not go a long way.
