The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, the South-West zonal coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement, over an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.
EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest at the weekend, saying Tejuosho was taken into custody on September 8.
“She is in our custody,” Oyewale said.
The arrest came months after the anti-graft agency declared Tejuosho wanted in April in connection with an ongoing fraud investigation.
The EFCC had identified her as a 41-year-old indigene of Lagos State, with her last known address listed as Aso Grove Estate, Maitama Extension, Abuja.
The commission had earlier questioned Tejuosho in June 2025 following complaints alleging that she collected money from individuals after promising to secure federal government appointments and lucrative contracts for them.
Investigators alleged that fake appointment letters and forged documents were used to convince prospective victims that Tejuosho had the capacity to facilitate government appointments and contracts.
Tejuosho, who is the founder of Haleems Integrated Services Limited, was subsequently granted administrative bail as investigations continued.
Her latest arrest followed the EFCC’s April wanted notice, after which the City Boy Movement suspended her as its South-West zonal coordinator of the women’s wing.
The movement said the suspension would remain in effect pending the conclusion of the investigation, describing the decision as an administrative step aimed at protecting its image, credibility and ethical standards.
It added that the suspension would allow the EFCC investigation to proceed without interference or undue influence.
The City Boy Movement is a political advocacy group that supports President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
The allegations against Tejuosho remain under investigation, and she has not been convicted of any offence. Any determination of criminal liability remains a matter for the courts.
