Israel Afeare, popularly known as Israel DMW, an aide and logistics manager to award-winning Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has dismissed rumours that the singer is secretly working with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Afeare described the claims as fabricated and aimed at generating social media traffic, insisting that Davido’s position on political endorsements remained unchanged.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page, Israel urged Nigerians to disregard the speculation, maintaining that the singer had turned down several lucrative offers to endorse presidential candidates.
He said Davido had rejected millions of dollars offered to secure his endorsement and remained committed to standing with Nigerians facing economic and other challenges.
“Dearest Nigerians, kindly disregard the useless rumours going around that Oga has been secretly or is currently working for the APC,” he wrote.
“All are totally fabricated lies to gain social media traffic. His earlier stance still remains.
“Oga has rejected several millions of dollars to endorse any of the presidential candidates. He keeps saying he would be with Nigerians, who are going through a lot, and that he would never betray them at all. What else do Nigerians want again?”
The statement comes amid renewed public discussion about Davido’s political stance ahead of the 2027 presidential election, following his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s declaration of support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Davido had earlier stated that he had not settled on a presidential candidate for the 2027 election, while ruling out support for the APC at the time.
The singer also maintained that his uncle’s political decision would not determine his own choice, stressing that individuals were entitled to make independent political decisions.
Israel’s latest comments appear aimed at distancing the singer from speculation that he may have aligned himself with the ruling party.
However, the claim that Davido rejected millions of dollars in endorsement offers was made by his aide and has not been independently verified.
