Army retaliates burns down markets and shops in Ehime-Mbano following killing of eight security personnel
Villagers of Ehime-Mbano, Imo state are on the run now with majority of them hiding and sleeping in the bush.
This is the aftermath of the killing of eight security personnel in their domain by unknown gun men yesterday and burning of their patrol vans.
In a viral video it could be seen that dozens of shops of tailors, restaurants and beer parlours were destroyed and burnt down.
Also the major market there known as Orie ndu was also torched down.
According to the narrative in the video the villagers are calling on Imo state government and federal government to come to their rescue as the villagers know nothing about yesterday carnage and killing of military personnel in their domain.
Recently there has been wide condemnation of duplicity and double standard of the military in addressing security issues in the country.
While the military deploy kinetic approach/ method to handle issues in the South East they apply non-kinetic and kids gloves approach in the north where they pamper Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen and bandits.
This approach in the South East most times affect innocent citizens leading to killing of people that know nothing about the incident.
