Police arrest parent for flogging son’s teacher to death in Warri

The Delta Police Command said it has arrested a suspect, Nnajiofor Nweke, for flogging his son’s teacher to death after his son was punished by school authorities for stealing two kegs of palm wine.

Delta police command spokesperson said a student (name withheld) of Alihame Mixed Secondary School, Agbor, alongside others went to a local palm wine shop and allegedly stole two kegs of palm wine.

According to a report, the suspect stormed the school in protest with a cane and started flogging teachers indiscriminately, adding that one of the teachers, a 33-year-old man slumped and died.

He said the suspect is currently undergoing investigation for murder at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at the State Command Headquarters in Asaba.
