Abia state govt discovers 50 decomposed bodies,20 headless dead bodies at Lokpanta Fulani cow settlement

The Abia State Government has discovered 50 decomposed dead bodies, 20 headless bodies, countless of human skeletons around Lokpanta cattle market in Umunneochi local government area of the state.

Governor Alex Otti made this revelation on Sunday night during the monthly media interaction with journalists in the state.

The governor noted that the spate of insecurity around the Lokpanta cattle market compelled the government to raid the cattle market,

Gov Otti added that prostitution, trading on narcotic drugs, other criminal vices around the Lokpanta cattle market was also part of the reasons the market was raided.

He confirmed that normalcy has now returned in the Umunneochi LGA .

Otti assured people of the state that his government is committed to tackling the issues of insecurity headlong without minding whose ox is gored.

He pointed out that no government will fold it’s hands and allow insecurity holds sway.

Abia Governor maintained that Lokpanta market would become a daily general market which would house cattle dealers, provision stores and other business concerns while the market opens by 6am and closes by 6pm every day.

“To further reinforces security coverage, this administration is fencing round the market even though it is costly to do so but is determined in ensuring adequate security coverage,” Gov Otti noted.

He further pointed out that Lokpanta area was notorious for kidnapping and armed robbery, hence the decision of his administration to make the market a daily one.

He said though the policy was misunderstood, after a meeting with the leadership of the market, everyone agreed with the government’s stand on making the market a daily one for the good of all.

“We are determined in rooting out insecurity in Abia State, because we know that no government can succeed in the face of insecurity, violence, armed and kidnapping.”

Otti added that gadgets would be deployed at strategic places to ensure the security of lives and property in the State. He added that his administration is poised to ensure Abians enjoy a great Christmas this year and maintained that, “this government will not get involved in supporting insecurity. Our devices will be installed in strategic places.”
