Nigerian men are still the best in the world despite my criticism of Lagos boys

In a recent episode of her podcast, TokeMoments, Nollywood actress and media personality Toke Makinwa expressed admiration for Nigerian men, describing them as “the best in the world.” Despite her occasional criticisms of local men, Toke asserted that they outshine their global counterparts, particularly those in the United Kingdom.

Toke Makinwa stated, “No matter how I criticise Lagos boys, Nigerian men are just badly behaved. But I still think Naija men in the pool are still the best around the world.” The media personality shared her perspective on dating, emphasizing the cultural differences she perceives between Nigerian and British men.

Her guest on the podcast, Madame Joyce, a British media personality, concurred with Toke’s sentiments. Joyce highlighted her own experiences, expressing astonishment at the contrast between dating expectations in the UK and Nigeria. She noted, “Honestly, it is really bad. And I feel like because we are so used to it, that is just the expectation.”

The conversation delved into the differences in chivalry, with Joyce remarking on the rarity of gestures like having a car door opened in the UK. She contrasted this with her experience in Nigeria, where such acts of courtesy are more prevalent.
