Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has appointed Elsie Peters as the new Head of Service (HoS) for the state, following the retirement of Effiong Essien from service, and also sacked two of his aides.
The Secretary to the State Government, Enobong Uwah, unveiled the developments in statements that were issued on Monday.
The affected aides were the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Support Services, Joseph Ikpak, and Special Assistant to the Governor on Neighbourhood Watch, Felix Ekuri.
Uwah disclosed the disengagement of the aides in a separate statement.
According to him, the measure was part of the administration’s restructuring and alignment towards the success of the Renewed Hope and Arise Agenda of the State Government.
