In what could be described as a literal “hands-on” approach to empowerment, Engr. Don Okafor, member representing Aguata Federal Constituency, recently distributed shiny new wheelbarrows to youths in his constituency.
The initiative, intriguingly branded “Mega Empowerment,” has left residents both amused and bewildered.
While the gesture is being touted as a boost for entrepreneurship and small-scale trade, critics have pointed out that it’s hard to see how a wheelbarrow alone can solve the pressing challenges facing the youth of Aguata. Social media has erupted with memes and jokes, with many jokingly asking, “Does everyone get their own wheelbarrow?”
Whether it sparks a grassroots business revolution or simply becomes the talk of the town, one thing is clear: Aguata’s “Mega Empowerment” is a story that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
