At least eight operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were killed in a deadly attack by unknown gunmen on Friday night at the BUA Cement Company premises in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
The officers were reportedly on official duty, providing security for critical infrastructure and personnel at the cement facility when the gunmen stormed the location.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, sparking fear among residents and workers at the plant. Security has since been tightened around the area, with additional operatives deployed to prevent further violence.
Authorities of the NSCDC and BUA Cement are yet to release official statements, but an investigation is said to be underway to uncover the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
The Edo State Police Command is also said to be working closely with the NSCDC and other security agencies to secure the area and maintain law and order.
