Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Prof Chidi Odinkalu has reacted to viral video of some people singing on your mandate during the All Nigeria Judges’ Conference.
The reaction of Chidi Odinkalu was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
According to the video that was shared on the official YouTube page of Channels TV, the people were singing after the President was introduced at the event.
However, Chidi Odinkalu has now shared his thoughts after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he said the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun spent time preaching about judicial independence yet judges still sang at the event.
Here is what Chidi Odinkalu wrote on his official X handle;
“I was initially inclined not to believe the rumour. The CJN spent her speech preaching about judicial independence. After she was done, the Judges did on your mandate we shall stand.”
