NAFDAC approves R-21anti malaria vaccine

National Agency for drug administration and control(NAFDAC) has given approval for usage of anti malaria vaccine known as R-21 vaccine.

NAFDAC Director-General Professor Mojisola Adeyeye stated this in a press conference in Abuja.

With this approval Nigeria becomes the second country to grant approval following after another West African country, Ghana.

The anti malaria vaccine for now is meant for children between the ages five months to three years.

Malaria is one of the killer diseases in sub Sahara Africa accounting for millions of deaths annually.
