According to a report by Punch on Sunday, November 16, 2025, Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has responded forcefully to U.S. President Donald Trump, warning that Nigerians will not be intimidated by threats or insults.
The statement was shared on Fani-Kayode’s official X handle on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
In his post, Fani-Kayode addressed the small group of individuals he described as turncoats and blacklegs who are reportedly on their knees, pleading with Trump not to attack Nigeria and calling for dialogue and understanding. He insisted that this group represents only a minority.
“The majority of us,” he wrote, “cannot bear your insolence, arrogance, and corrosive disposition. We will stand up to you like men, despite the odds.” According to Fani-Kayode, Nigerians will not submit to intimidation or threats, and any attempt to coerce the nation will be met with resilience and defiance.
He made it clear that dialogue or negotiations are unacceptable as long as Trump continues to threaten violence and issue insulting statements against Nigeria. “We reject any form of dialogue or understanding with you as long as you keep threatening us with violence and tormenting us with insults,” he said.
Fani-Kayode questioned the logic of engaging in talks with someone who, in his view, has contempt for the Nigerian people and considers them sub-human. He emphasized that dialogue is impossible with a leader who openly defies moral and divine authority and who has a track record of supporting or turning a blind eye to oppression and violence against both Christians and Muslims around the world.
He further stated that diplomacy must be grounded in mutual respect and recognition of sovereignty, warning that appeasement or submission to bullies is neither honorable nor effective. “How can there be dialogue and talks with a bully and a thug who believes we are sub-human and who has contempt for us?” he asked.
