Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has said the 2027 general election will mark his final bid for the presidency, according to a report by Zebra News.
Speaking on Wednesday during an interview on Arise TV, Abubakar confirmed that he does not intend to seek the office beyond the 2027 race, signalling a potential end to his long-standing presidential ambitions.
Atiku Abubakar has been in the presidential race since 1993 and the bid for 2027 presidential election will mark the seventh time he be jostling for the lucrative post to become the president of the federal republic of Nigeria.
On several occasions he has come out to state he will never contest for the presidency only for him to recant.
Political permutations this time around favours the presidency to come from the South as late President Buhari appropriated the eight years for the North as he served out his two terms.
