United Kingdom Prime Minister, Keir Starmer has resigned as the United Kingdom Prime Minister and leader of the Labour Party.
Speaking on Monday outside 10 Downing Street, Starmer anchored his decision to quit on “putting the country I love first”
Starmer thanks his “fantastic wife, Vic”, describing her as a “rock”. He also says he wants to be the “best dad I can to my beautiful children, who are my pride and joy”
BBC reports that Andy Burnham – who could replace the PM – will be in Westminster today to be sworn in as MP for Makerfield, after winning the by-election last week
