Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has dismissed the possibility of the Rainbow Coalition gaining political ground in the state, insisting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure victory in the 2027 general elections through what he described as organic votes.
Uzodimma made the declaration on Tuesday during the distribution of campaign vehicles under the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Imo State.
The governor maintained that the APC remained the dominant political party in the state and urged supporters to vote for its candidates in elections at all levels in 2027.
“There is no Rainbow Coalition in Imo State,” Uzodimma declared, expressing confidence in the party’s prospects in the forthcoming elections.
He also expressed optimism that Imo would deliver victory for President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates when Nigerians head to the polls in 2027.
The distribution of campaign vehicles under the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement is part of efforts to mobilise support for Tinubu and the APC ahead of the next general elections.
Uzodimma urged party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation and campaign activities to secure votes for the party across the state.
The governor’s remarks come amid political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, with the Rainbow Coalition emerging as a platform associated with political actors seeking to coordinate their activities and influence the electoral contest.
His declaration that the coalition has no presence in Imo underscores the APC leadership’s confidence in its political structure in the state.
However, the outcome of the 2027 elections will ultimately depend on voters’ decisions at the polls.
