Doris Ogalla (the AAC governorship candidate for Abia State staged a dramatic protest at the Federal High Court in Abuja after Department of State Services (DSS) and police locked the gates and restricted entry during Omoyele Sowore’s hearing.
Demanding access, she was seen confronting armed operatives, recording videos, and attempting to climb the gates of the court premises.
It will be recalled that armed DSS and Nigerian Correctional Service officers barricaded the entrance at the Maitama court, preventing lawyers and litigants from entering the premises.
But the Abia state Governorship hopefull Doris Ogalla will not have any of that intimidation as she challenged the heavily armed operatives, insisting that it was her fundamental human right as an unarmed citizen to enter the court and demanded to be arrested alongside her presidential candidate, Sowore.
In the midst of the physical scuffles and tension inside the courtroom, Sowore was remanded to Kuje Prison, causing Doris Ogalla and the Take It Back Movement to protest outside.
The scuffle and the actions of the security operatives sparked public backlash, leading the Department of State Services to order a probe into the conduct of its officers.
Two days ago similar situation played out when police and DSS attempted to force Sowore inside a waiting Black Maria lorry for onward transmission to Kuje Prison. But Sowore supporters shouting Revolution Now resisted the attempt with one of the supporters shouting that it is only when DSS see Sowore that their preeq will rise.
