A 27-year-old man, Ali Haruna, has allegedly confessed to killing and beheading a woman, simply identified as Aisha, during a meeting with her for the first time at a hotel in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The suspect made the confession when he spoke with newsmen at the headquarters of Adamawa State Police Command in Yola.
Haruna, who recounted the events that led to Aisha’s death when he spoke with newsmen on Monday, was arrested on August 14, 2026 after killing the woman at No Vex Hotel in Girei.
The suspect, who gave his permanent address as Kaleri, Maiduguri in Borno State, is said to reside in Digno, a community in Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
According to him, he and Aisha smoked Indian hemp and had sex at the hotel despite meeting for the first time before the incident occurred.
The spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command and a Superintendent of Police, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspect will remain in police custody as investigations continue.
