Famous radio journalist, Pius Opute Orezimena, has died at 66.
Mr Orezimena passed away on Tuesday after battling a partial stroke that lasted five years.
The broadcast media personality’s death was announced by his relatives in a statement on Wednesday.
The family described the journalist’s demise as a great loss, which would be remembered forever.
“With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and family patriarch, Diplomatic OPJ (Pius Opute Orezimena Jnr.), who peacefully slept in the Lord on Tuesday, 25th August 2026,” the statement said.
“His passing is a great loss to us, but we are comforted by the beautiful memories he leaves behind and the legacy of love, wisdom, and family that he shared with us,” it said.
Mr Orezimena is survived by his children, grandchildren and extended family members, who mourn and celebrate his lifetime.
“We humbly ask family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to remember us in their prayers during this difficult time,” the family said.
Before his death, Mr Orezimena worked with Wazobia 95.1 F.M in Lagos State.
