The General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, has declared that he will never hand over the leadership of the church to any of his biological sons, insisting that the ministry belongs to Jesus Christ and not to him or his family.

“The reason why I will never handover Deeper Life church to any of my biological sons is because the church doesn’t belong to me.
Jesus said, upon this rock, I will build my church upon the rock. Jesus said, it’s his church. It’s not Peter’s church. It’s nobody’s church. It’s the church of Jesus Christ and nobody has right to hand it over to his son
. Peter did not hand over the church to his son. Paul did not have any son or wife, but Paul did not hand over the church to his son. And John did not hand over the church to his son…
The position of this revered clergyman has attracted wide commendation and praise as people see it as exceptional going by what other head of churches who have died and handed the church over either to their wives or biological children.
Instances abound as Nkechi Iloputaife inherited Christian Victory Church from her husband Pastor Anayo Iloputaife, TB Joshua handed his church to his wife, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya handed his Fountain of life church to his dreadlocks son Jimmy Olukoya.
Even some serving General Overseers alive now have made their wives and children heir apparent to the church pulpit and once they depart from this word the church automatically goes to their biological sons, daughters or even wives.
