Afrobeats star Davido has mocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) amid the ongoing collation of results from the Osun State governorship election.
The singer’s comment, “Osun no be Edo,” appeared to be a reference to the outcome of the 2024 Edo State governorship election, where the APC secured victory.
His remark came as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continued uploading polling-unit results to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
At an earlier stage, results from 1,695 of the state’s 3,763 polling units had been uploaded. The figure later rose to 3,029, representing 80.49 per cent of the expected results.
Partial results showed incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leading with 177,572 votes against APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji’s 158,588 votes, while African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Najeem Salaam had 5,917 votes.
However, collation was still ongoing across the state’s 30 local government areas, and INEC had yet to declare a winner.
