A former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Koko Besse Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Muhammadu Besse, has died in captivity.
The former party chairman was abducted alongside his friend, Muhammed Maibarga, earlier in June, reports Daily Trust.
However, Maibarga, an Islamic cleric of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Ikamatis-Sunnah (JIBWIS), died in captivity three weeks ago.
Before his death, bandits released a video showing the late Besse and his cleric friend being tortured and humiliated inside the forest.
When contacted, Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi State Police Command, SP Bashir Usman, said the police are still investigating the death of the former party chairman.
