According to a report by Daily Post, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has a strong chance of securing the 2027 presidency, according to a statement from the cleric during a recent church service.
Ayodele, while addressing his congregation, claimed that the political future of the country could favour Atiku but warned that the former vice president’s approach may determine whether he succeeds or not. He argued that adopting a cautious or overly diplomatic strategy could create challenges, especially with President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as a highly determined political figure.
The cleric also stated that northern voters may not support Tinubu in the next election, claiming that political groups within the region are gradually aligning behind Atiku. He added that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would likely intensify reconciliation efforts to regain support ahead of the election.
Speaking further, Ayodele cautioned that the contest would be shaped by intense political strategies and personalities involved. He said, “The Presidency is in Atiku’s hand but a lot of circumstances will stop him if he continues to play gentlemanly politics because Tinubu is very desperate. Desperate than Peter Obi, Nigerians and even the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.”
