Let everyone say things they know that is bad about me, & not just Kenneth Okonkwo–Peter Obi Throws Challenge On Arise Television
Peter Obi issued this public challenge in response to ongoing criticisms from his former spokesperson, Barrister Kenneth Okonkwo.
Challenging Okonkwo and the public to scrutinize his character, Obi famously stated: “Wait a minute, we must go further… Not just Kenneth, everybody should now say those things they know that are bad about me.”
Kenneth Okonkwo publicly accused Peter Obi of betrayal after Obi chose to support the Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party (LP). Okonkwo resigned in February 2025, claiming Obi’s decision destroyed his own public stance on integrity.
In response to Okonkwo’s allegations and his claims of having further hidden information to reveal, Obi issued a pre-action letter to take the matter to court.
Rather than suppress the criticisms, Obi welcomed the legal battle, stating on Instagram that leaders should be completely open to public scrutiny regarding their integrity and competence.
